About Our Kitchen Window

Our Kitchen Window Winery & Home Goods is a family owned and operated business established in 2022. Owners Jeff and Wendy Hepp brainstormed for years on business ideas. Jeff has made wine at home since he returned from an overseas deployment in 2008. Wendy is a soap maker and enjoys creating unique hand-poured batches. The couple loves to travel and found that they would usually bring home items from their trips that focused on kitchen items, spices, wine, and locally-made soap. They decided to put all of those ideas together and came up with the concept of Our Kitchen Window. ​

Meet the Team!

Wendy Hepp

Hello! I'm Wendy Hepp and I take care of the day-to-day operations of our shop. I'm also the soap-maker, which keeps me quite busy. My favorite part of owning a business in downtown Urbana is simply being a part of the community. I have many "Hallmark movie" experiences and it makes my day visiting with regulars as well as welcoming new visitors to the area.

When I'm not running the shop or making soap, I'm probably traveling, planning a trip, or homeschooling my son (or a combination of all three). My favorite trip to date was a transatlantic cruise with my daughters where we visited 4 different countries and then passed over the Titanic in the fog!  ​

Jeff Hepp

I grew up in Champaign County, Ohio where I graduated from Graham High School and enjoyed my time in the tuba section of the Dancing Band from Falconland. After high school, I attended Bowling Green State University with a degree in Construction Management, and worked in construction until the events of September 11th changed my career direction. Enlisting in 2004, I am a veteran of the US Army Artillery. After deploying with the Army, I turned to fishing, hunting and winemaking to relax and enjoy life after military service. I continued my post-military career in the civil service with the Air Force and Department of Interior. We were blessed with the opportunity to open our winery and soap shop in 2022. ​

Grace Hepp

Hi! I’m Grace Hepp, Wendy & Jeff’s oldest. You’ll see me working on Fridays and Saturdays. I’m a lover of yapping and all things colorful! When I’m not at the winery, I’m traveling, DIYing, or working my day job grooming dogs! (Please bring your dog with you to do a wine tasting. Sincerely, me)

Working with my family in downtown Urbana is so rewarding. It’s a blessing to be able to meet new people and spread laughter each day I’m here. It truly doesn’t feel like a job!
